Shaleeta Flagg, BA
Shaleeta Flagg has worked at the CU School of Medicine on the CU Anschutz Medical Campus for nearly 20 years and brings over 25 years of experience as an executive professional. She co-led strategic visioning and planning for OPEN (Opportunity Pathway Engagement Network) initiatives across mission areas within the department. She has actively engaged faculty, staff, and trainees—alongside nationally recognized consulting experts—to implement best practices in academic medicine. Her efforts have been instrumental in building trust, alignment, and integration among multiple leaders and committees at both the School of Medicine and Children’s Hospital Colorado.
As the inaugural Department of Psychiatry OPEN Officer, Shaleeta is committed to fostering an environment that champions belonging, equity, and inclusion across the department and campus. She is a highly valued member of the community. Shaleeta serves as Secretary of the Black Faculty and Staff Affinity (BFSA) group, advocating for the voices and needs of underrepresented populations. She also sits on the Staff Council, contributing to community-related events and initiatives. She believes that every person—regardless of background or gender identity—deserves to be treated with compassion and dignity. Additionally, Shaleeta serves on the Black Family Advisory Council (BFAC) for Denver Public Schools.
