Colorado PROSPER

Perinatal Resource Supporting Obstetric Screening,

Psychiatric Education, Equity, and Referral

Perinatal mental health conditions affect 1 in 5 mothers and birthing parent.

These conditions can appear at any time during pregnancy or in the first year following childbirth.

Colorado PROSPER is a free state-wide perinatal psychiatry phone and e-consultation program with a goal to expand the capacity of front-line healthcare providers to implement universal screening, assessment and treatment of perinatal mental health and substance use conditions within routine obstetric and primary care. Colorado PROSPER supports healthcare professionals caring for pregnant and postpartum individuals across Colorado.

Colorado PROSPER will also support new parents struggling with mental health concerns. Our experts in maternal, infant and early childhood mental health will support you by offering local referrals for treatment and have a perinatal psychiatrist available for consultation about medications when needed.
