M. Camille Hoffman, MD, MSc

Dr. M. Camille Hoffman is a Professor at the University of Colorado School of Medicine in the Departments of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Psychiatry. She has training in obstetrics and gynecology, maternal fetal medicine, perinatal mental health, integrative medicine, and the conduct of translational and clinical perinatal research trials. Since 2010 she has successfully completed a prospective cohort study of perinatal stress and maternal mental health in relation to maternal and fetal physiology and birth outcomes, and two clinical randomized trials enrolling pregnant women in the early second trimester and assessing maternal, fetal, and child outcomes out to four years of age. Of relevance to the current project is her clinical work for the American College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists (ACOG) on co-authoring the 2023 Clinical Practice Guidelines on screening, diagnosis, and treatment of perinatal mental health conditions (#1) and psychopharmacology in the perinatal period (#2). She is personally and professionally on the front line of expanding perinatal care to include integration of diagnosis and treatment of perinatal mental health conditions during pregnancy and the postpartum period to alleviate human suffering and reduce maternal morbidity and mortality.
