Shawna Tonick, MD
Dr. Shawna Tonick is an Assistant Professor at the University of Colorado School of Medicine in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is a specialist in general obstetrics and gynecology with a special interest in perinatal mental health. She has worked in direct patient care at the PROMISE Perinatal Mood Disorders clinic at the University of Colorado, including efforts to improve transition of care after the peripartum period. She holds many educational roles, including associate program director for the obstetrics and gynecology residency program. She has successfully enacted multiple educational programs at our institution, including a longitudinal simulation curriculum. These educational skills translate into mentoring obstetrics and gynecology clinicians and other providers as they evaluate perinatal patients across the state of Colorado.
