Sara Collins serves as the Resource and Referral Specialist for PROSPER within the Colorado Center for Women's Behavioral Health at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. Prior to this role, she dedicated eight years to the U.S. Army as a Nutrition Care Specialist in the Army Reserve Medical Command Unit. Notably, the last three years involved collaborating with Behavioral Health Specialists to provide mental healthcare to service members. This included conducting intake interviews and securing resources to ensure they received the necessary treatment for optimal health and productivity. Sara holds a Bachelor's Degree in Public Health from Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) and is pursuing her Master's Degree in the same field, with an anticipated completion date of Fall 2025. Her studies have incorporated perinatal research, focusing on the impact of indoor and outdoor air pollution on pregnant women and their newborns. Sara's healthcare journey began in 2017 as a Medical Assistant at National Jewish Health. She later transitioned to the role of Executive Patient Ambassador, where she coordinated care for out-of-state patients. As a native Coloradan, she is passionate about serving as the primary point of contact for Colorado providers, facilitating access to psychiatric consultations and connecting them with community-based treatment and recovery support services.
